It all began in 1918 initially at Castlefield Quays Salford making battery acid, and then in the 1920’s as the market for chemicals widened we needed more space for larger plant so we moved to Blackley in Manchester where we began the manufacture of Epsom Salt and associated products.

In 1948 we moved to our current 2 acre site in Heywood Lancashire, where we continued to manufacture until the early 2000’s.

In 2003 we moved into our new purpose built unit on the same Heywood site, where we continue to supply and distribute food grade Epsom Salts to large pharmaceutical companies and food manufacturing operations.

Whilst much of that original site has now been sold off to other industrial developments, Harris Hart remain supplying and distributing nothing but food grade Epsom to industry and domestic customers.
